I can't remember the exact details of how I took this photograph at Sandycove, County Dublin. The aperture, shutter speed and film is a mystery to me.
What i do remember is that I got as close as possible to the water without getting my camera wet. There was an odd glare from the sun that seemed to highlight the area directly in front of me. The rest of the bay was splattered with the odd ray of light but the main focus just happened beside me. It lasted for about three minutes. It felt like I was waiting for an apparition to appear from the water. A mermaid, a swan, a shark or a submarine...some mysterious creature might come out of the sea. But alas it wasn't to be. The clouds dominated the sky. They Pushed the sun into smaller and smaller pockets until there was just a gray haze across the sky. The haze was reflected by the water and the familiar winter mono-tone scene reappeared before my eyes.
