Halfway between Sutton and the Howth Head Lighthouse there is a cave that time forgot.
The beach lies quiet in the winter months, sometimes inaccessible due to the high tides and fierce coastal winds. It could have been a smugglers haven or a den for those on the run by the law. It looks out onto a pier that might have been. The pier now lies abandoned and in disrepair. The jagged rocks are huddled together for protection against the ever advancing seas. It is destined to be swallowed up and eroded and will finally disappear into the history books as a place that once was.
