Hello and welcome to my new and improved website. Everything on this website is a representation of the hobbies I enjoy in life. There is primarily photography in the website but there is also poetry, writing and videos to be discovered.
The main portfolio of photographs consists of black and white photographs of Irish landscapes. My landscape photography has been photographed around Ireland's coast, cities and mountains. Galway and Dublin are two of the counties where I have mostly taken my photographs, having lived in both cities. I use film to photograph the landscapes of Ireland, hand developing the 35mm and 6x6 film in my darkroom.
Some of the favorite places that I have photographed are, The Peoples Park, Dun Laoghaire, Monkstown, Dublin Bay, Blackrock, Galway City, Killiney, Phoenix Park, Bull Island, Dublin City, Sandycove and Dalkey. I find working with black and white film photography a more creative experience than digital photography. Although, using digital cameras has some very strong advantages such as been able to see what you have just photographed and the speed of the whole process.
The bands that I have photographed include Jungle Boogie and The Coronas. This is a photographic area that is remarkably different than photographing landscapes. In fact it is the polar opposite. Landscape photography is quite relaxing and slow while band photography is exhilarating, loud and fast. Both are great fun and have their own merits. I have also taken musician portraits, with Linton Kwesi Johnson among those photographed.
